Growth mindset: what actually is it?

We have already mentioned a growth mindset a few times in previous blogs, however, let’s recap and uncover what it really means. Having the correct mindset changes everything in our daily lives.

Career progression & growth mindset

So how do we marry our developed growth mindset within our career journey? We can start off by building a plan as highlighted above with our career roadmap. Our careers do not need to follow our planned initial trajectory; however, it is useful to develop a roadmap for guidance.

Focusing on the key qualities of seeking new opportunities to develop our skill set and being open to learning, even if we do not become technical experts immediately, demonstrates a commitment to our career progression plan. Additionally, engraining a true sense of self-belief in tackling career challenges and learning from the experience is also vital.

When we undertake a new task/activity, look for chances to receive feedback with an open mind, such that we are not disheartened by the information. Rather, we assess this as new learning sprints.

We should document any setbacks during our professional setting and embrace how we have overcome these circumstances. This will make us more aware of our environment and develop on building solutions.
