Don’t we all have periods of self-doubt? It can happen sporadically as a result of a certain stimuli and can be a little challenging to overcome. As our mission is to instil positivity and provide options to live a happier life through mindfulness practice, we will cover the concept of self-doubt and methods to overcome it effectively.
What is self-doubt?
The term self-doubt can be defined and understood in many different ways and here at The Dynamic Mind, we have concluded that it encompasses a sense of heightened personal judgment and reflection against others causing undue stress resulting in negative thoughts.
Self-doubt for you can be completely different to others who maybe in a similar position, as this is often influenced by previous experiences. Respect each other’s journey and support one another.
Self-doubt can be regarded as the monster that sits within our minds eating away our positivity, drive, motivation and passion. This restricts us from challenging our competencies and ensures we only stay within our limits. This is a factor that we do not believe is ideal for personal and professional growth.

Understanding and being able to recognise key signs of self-doubt is not only beneficial to our own body and mind, but also to others around us. Take a few moments to go through the list below. - Afraid of social settings
The feeling of self-doubt typically is associated with negative emotions, but this is not the case for everyone, as it can in turn be a driving force to propel motivation.

Methods to overcome self-doubt
Now we have listed the key signs of self-doubt, let’s move on to discuss methods to overcome it effectively.
One key element which we focus on at The Dynamic Mind is keeping and utilising a support network. It is far better to discuss both successes and battles with others instead of bottling them within.
Journaling is another technique to help manage thoughts and document the journey we are going through. This might be more ideal for those who initially find it a challenge to openly discuss their emotions.
Nevertheless, there is great power in incorporating both methods. Start small and build it up over time.
Make sure to focus on yourself, do not compare your current status with others, as it is a waste of energy. We are all on our own paths, and therefore should embrace and enjoy the experience.
To boost our confidence within our career development, we can find ways to upskill our proficiencies. In doing so, we can take pride in our new achievements and overcome the feeling of self-doubt.
Do not forget to celebrate the small wins.
